I am a LDS member, even I do not condone this movie nor do I condone smashing Us building's in other countries. Vilance is not the answer, keep in mind in the US we have freedom of speach, yes, that includes religion as well. Again, I do not promote, condone this movie, nor do I think the LDS profit would either. Well comment, this movie is sick, well off I go to other activaties.

All I can say is it's only a matter of time before we see war on American soil.

The sick part is that people are getting killed over a movie. How pathetic do you have to be to kill people over a flippin' video. I see lots of videos calling atheists all kinds of terrible things, I have yet to riot or kill anyone or blow anything up. The only word I can think of to describe it is childish. Its the same with the riots over the cartoons in Belgium I think it was. Absolutely pathetic.

I don't believe this movie is what sparked all the violence. It's being used as an excuse and a diversion from the real issues at hand.
Having said that though, yes, in my opinion, a movie mocking any religion is in very poor taste. As a Christian, I don't like it when movies, tv shows, etc mock God or Jesus but it happens all the time. Guess what, I can choose not to watch those things. I don't know anyone who feels compelled to riot and murder based on being offended.
In America, we do have the right of free speech, unfortunately, not everyone uses that right in a positive way. Even when I disagree whole-heartedly with what's being said, I value the rights of each of us to express ourselves.

There's been Muslim Riots going on here in Australia in Sydney over this video, it's sickening. The Police and all Muslim leaders around Australia are trying to calm the situation here, lucky these Riots and Protests hasn't arrived in my City yet.

Heck I am a LDS member and we get flack for "multiple wives" and actually none of that is true. I have one wife, that is all lawfuly I am allowed to have, that is all I want. Just one wife, so you do not see me protesting that show sister wives do you? Bla, this reaction is said, those who demand the producers face punishment do not understand the american consitution.

I couldn't have said it better than Domestic Goddess. The Islamic extremists are just using this video as an excuse for their own ends. I may not be a Muslim, or an Atheist, but I don't favor videos mocking either of those. As Cody said, he sees media knocking Atheists, but it doesn't mean he plans to go attack buildings and people. And if Christians retaliated like this every time we were nocked and attacked by individuals and the media at large, I shudder to think of the consequences. I am in favor of free speech, but it's true that there are always stupid people in the world who will misuse the privelege. Still, that's no reason for our government to try to restrict it.

I agree. I don't understand all Islamic beliefs but I don't condone what these idiots did i making these videos. But unfortunately what the Islamic extremists don't seem to want to take into consideration is that it's precisely because of their behavior that a lot of the rest of the world has a bad view of the entire religion. Of course it doesn't help that America as a nation seems to have this view that the entire world needs and wats to be a democracy or a republic whether or not it's actually true. We meddle in other nations' affairs regardless of weter or not those affairs actually impact us and that as much as anything is probably what's got the folks in the Middle East and others angry with us. I'm all for retaliating if a terrorist attacks us. We do indeed need to show the rest of the world that we won't stand by when others threaten what we stand for. But sometimes I think we take that way too far.

Religion, politics, and humanity aside, this video is amusing. I'm all for free speech, but since this movie has supposedly promoted or contributed to so much fighting and so on, couldn't it be classified as fighting words? Lol.
I'm done.

Post 12 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Thursday, 20-Sep-2012 13:20:15

LOL. The sad part is that if someone made a video mocking Christianity in the same way this video mocks Islam the extremists of that faith and probably the not-so-extremists would probably react the same way.

My god doesn't exist, leaving your god with nobody to fight. So why are we blowing up buildings and killing people again?

Apparently the person who made that film was arrested in Los Angeles, can any of you guys confirm this?

Post 18 by SilverLightning (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Sunday, 30-Sep-2012 15:28:52

He was brought in for questioning, not arrested as far as I know.

Post 19 by Smiling Sunshine (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Sunday, 30-Sep-2012 16:12:12

From what I heard on the news as of Thursday, he was arrested on a probation violation and held without bail. Apparently he violated probation for check fraud by using the internet and was held without bail because he's viewed as a flight risk.
